It is rare that an unannounced artist drop-in will uncover the kind of singular talent that Neil Hollingsworth revealed to Tree’s Place on a chance visit to Cape Cod several years ago. It is rarer still to see one serendipitous partnership turn into two, which is exactly what happened when Neil introduced us to his wife Karen, an equally accomplished painter. Neil’s work borrows an industrial affinity from his time as an Air Force mechanic, and an appreciation for design born from commercial illustration. To this form and function yang, Karen’s style provides a balancing yin. Her airy compositions are a theater for dreamlike subject matter and an ethereal sense of beauty.
