New Arrivals

Ben Watson III , Back Door , Dry Brush and Watercolor, 16 x 27 inches

Michael Whelan, Sunflower, Acrylic on Panel, 12x18 inches

"This painting represents a girl in her refuge, watching and waiting for the next spring.
It is titles Sunflower because those flowers always turn their heads towards the sun;
and she is doing the same. The young girl is ignoring the bleak winter landscape and
choosing to focus on the better times to come. She holds her optimism in her hands
(the bear) and near her heart, and that is her sanctuary.

The curving shape in the concrete is a pun, shaped like a watch spring,
"watching for spring.
" - Michael Whelan
